Still haven’t bought your iPad 2 yet and wondering which flavor of 3G to get: AT&T or Verizon? Ma Bell’s now sweetening the pot if you’re willing to sign up with them. According to a mailing AT&T is sending around, they’re offering a free month of iPad data for a limited time, with no commitment or associated fees. All you have to do is call them up at 1-888-237-5888 and it sounds like they’ll hook you up.
AT&T phrases this offer as a way to “try your iPad” on their mobile broadband service, but of course, if you bought an AT&T iPad 2, you don’t really have a choice either way anymore.

Verizon uses “Partners” for 75% of its coverage area in my state, and all of it is 3G. Although the Verizon iPhone 4 can use this partner coverage, the Verizon iPad 2 cannot. I found this out the hard way after a Verizon employee told me that it would work. The Verizon iPad 2 MUST be used on Verizon Native Mobile Broadband ONLY, it cannot be used in any Extended or Partner coverage areas at all. Verizon needs to shrink its 3G coverage maps to give a more accurate depiction of the areas the device can actually be used in.
Are I-Pad one owners offered the same ?
This is just a scam by AT&T to get you to prefer to buy a GSM iPad if you are considering getting an iPad 2 with either CDMA or GSM.
lol at scam conspiracy theory.
haters gotta hate.
I think you may mean “scheme.” If that’s what you mean, then yes, this is an advertising ploy used by many companies. Somewhat dirty, knowing people will forget to cancel, but certainly not a scam.
