Apple has launched two new TV ads for the iPhone that could potentially be the last to feature the iPhone 4. Demonstrating FaceTime and AirPlay, the ads continue the “If you don’t have an iPhone…” campaign which started back in March.
With Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone expected to launch later this year, these ads could be the last in which the iPhone 4 is the star.
If you don’t have an iPhone, you don’t have AirPlay…

I just love how Apple understands the customers… no bragging about HARDWARE SPECS.
They tell people how to use the tools and what they can do with it… instead of 200 GHZ DUAL CORE! (wtf is that, most people would ask/// especially, whats the point for me?)
Does anyone else notice that unlike competitors’ ads, Apple ads don’t have fine print that says “simulated images”? They show actual output from iOS devices instead of video post processing add-ons. Do they get an award for truth in advertising?
Actually they do. When they speed up the sequences.
yep. That’s Apple’s style. They know their audience ain’t all spec geeks so they don’t use marketing for the common man that is all this spec and that spec.
“If you don’t have an iPhone”…… Maybe the reason why I don’t have an iPhone is that I don’t /WANT/ an iPhone. ;P
Part of the reason for this is that Apple’s hardware specs for the iPhone are horrible when compared with the Android phones. Of course, the iPhone 4 is a year old…
Lies, damned lies, and advertising.
I haven’t watched the ads, so I’m just looking at the pictures above. That said, note the older woman on the right. She has her hands crossed on her chest. Notice the pretty girl on the left has her arms held down.
How are they holding the camera?
Oh, they’re using a tripod to hold the camera (sold separately).
Also, the reason that you don’t see the standard disclaimer? Apple has a lot of money. If some group actually got on Apple’s case, Apple would just pull the ads and pay the fine. “Oops! You caught us! Our bad.”
Don’t get me wrong–that is actual output from FaceTime–shot under very controlled conditions.
It is still not the same as superimposing a pre-edited video onto the screens. Note the smooth Flash playback in the PlayBook ads. All ads are manipulated to some degree. Having to simulate a display shows a lack of confidence in your own products. Imagine a car ad that shows the speedometer going to 200MPH with the same disclaimer.
