Apple’s new store in New York’s Upper East Side might be the most posh retail location the iPhone-maker has ever opened, but according to a new report, Jony Ive and Angela Ahrendts have tag-teamed some new design changes for other stores that will give them more of a ‘premium feel.’

Ahrendts revealed last week that Apple plans to renovate 20 existing stores in the U.S., including Apple’s iconic Fifth Ave store in New York, in an effort to ‘rethink designs.’ Part of the project will create more uniformity among stores’ accessory displays, reports Macotakara.

The redesign could bring some of the new elements found in the Upper East Side store to other stores across the country. Instead of displaying all available units on the show floor, the new store has fixtures that display accessories out of their boxes, with a handle underneath that can be pulled to reveal a drawer full of units available for sale.

Macotakara claims Apple plans to reduce the variety of products sold in stores, along with changing packaging as well so that it’s mostly white. The redesigns will allegedly start rolling out in July to make stores a better place to sell the Apple Watch, though some changes like better seating areas have already been popping up at stores across the U.S.

A welcome change. The Apple Store near me does feel a little cluttered and less organized because there’s so many different products on the walls. I just don’t think they’re making good use of the limited space they have so I’ll be looking forward to the new aesthetics.

I was afraid of this when I heard Ahrendts was heading up Apple Retail. The original Apple store design was intended to make it feel modern but egalitarian. A space where all were welcomed. Now she’s taking it down a path of exclusivity and pretension. We don’t want British snobbery with our tech thanks Angela.

That all you got? Wanna try making an intelligent response?

Oh right. You can take pot shots at my comprehension but you don’t expect me to tell you what I think of you. How about PISS OFF.

      • PMB01 says:

Stating facts isn’t taking pot shots. Again, you need to understand how these things work before you try using them against others in a lame attempt to save face. Ad hominem attacks only make you look like an ignorant buffoon (observation btw, not an attack). Still wanna try again?

You’re not stating a fact you idiot, you’re accusing me of not comprehending what those words mean. I have a perfect understanding of their meaning. Stop being a dumbs troll. We don’t all have to agree with you.

      • PMB01 says:

Nope, all facts. You clearly don’t understand what you’re talking about and have to resort to childish name calling without even an intelligent thought. You’re the one whose comments are disappearing. If you have an intelligent response, please give it or go back to class.

      • HowmaNoid says:

Dude. I don’t give a shit what you think.

      • PMB01 says:

Clearly you do because you keep responding. And you should because you should be learning from the criticisms people give you instead of arrogantly denying them. But you seem to enjoy being an asshat.

      • HowmaNoid says:

Your illusion of self importance is quite astounding.

      • PMB01 says:

Again, you don’t know what you’re talking about. And look, your original comment has been deleted! How many more before you learn?
