Safari use to be fast…. Now it’s sloooooooooow…. Give me a startup page like safari on Google chrome and forget Safari in a heartbeat.

It’s funny, Safari never gives me problems, yet everyone hates it. I feel bad for people who don’t take care of their computer.

You feel sorry for people who don’t take care of their computers? There’s always one person who claims that everyone else is the problem.
Its not a PC, there’s nothing to take care of.

The update does seem to be much much faster.

Same problem. I love the safari Top Sites, but sice i upgraded to Lion it is drilling my RAM.
Yesterday Safari alone was consuming 1.23 GB!

I installed the update and Safari performance certainly seems to have improved. Feels pretty snappy. Hopefully it will stick.

  7. Michael says:

This update hasn’t done anything for me. The only webpage I have open right now is Cult of Mac and Safari is using almost exactly 1 GB of RAM.

@readers:disqus  my classmate’s mother-in-law made $211685 so far just working on the computer for a few hours. Go to this web site and read more. http://avoo.net/dywxs

Tell me about it. Same story here. I have a 2011 mba and I thought it’d be smooth sailing, but nope. Hope this update fixes that.

Safari 5 has given me problems with my computer and I take care of it;  always updated, repair permissions regularly, etc.

I suggest you not make any conclusions based on a sample size of one, namely your own experience.

  11. aardman says:

Maybe this is the one that stops my computer from freezing at least once a day.

  12. Custom says:

Do a very easy test for me and come back for your conclusion… Go visite a image heavy site like wvw.thechive.c@m and browse inside where they are 30-40 pictures to display… Play back and forth for 2 little minutes with Safari …Then do the same experiment with Chrome…
I don’t care about millisecond speed difference but this test is an eye opener!

Run Mac Pro 3.33 with SSD and the biggest GPU available on Apple store… lion clean install….but this test is what is all about…

Still can’t use Acrobat X plugin within Safari to markup PDFs on a webdav server. Ever since the 5.1 update.
