Less than a week after the release of EL Capitan beta 4, Apple has seeded a fifth beta to developers this afternoon, full of new fixes for developers.
Apple has released three of the the last four OS X El Capitan betas on a Tuesday, with the other coming on a Wednesday, so this afternoon’s release is a bit of surprise.
It appears that Apple hasn’t added any new features on this beta, but contains bug fixes and performances enhancements. It’s the first time Apple’s released two El Capitan beta within a week of each other, possibly signaling that Apple’s software developers are done adding bigger features, and are focusing on squashing bugs for the public version, available in the fall.
We’ll let you know if we find anything major once it’s on our Macs. Developers can grab the new El Capitan beta from the Apple Developer Center, or via Software Updates in the Mac App Store, if you’re on the fourth beta.

WOW! lets see if exchange in mail will behave now! i hate using outlook for mail!
Ever since I upgraded to El Capitan, my home WIFI network has been acting up. I’m not sure if there is something causing bandwidth issues or screwing with my WIFI, but I have to physically shut down my iMac for my AppleTV streaming services to work properly. I have a 50Mbps connection and I manage my devices so I don’t have too many connected at once to cause network congestion, but until I turn off my iMac, my WIFI doesn’t seem to be consistent. Anyway, I have no idea if this software could be affecting it, but it sure seems that way.
I wonder if you actually have to power down the iMac, or if you can just turn off wifi on the imac?
Yeah, I’ve done that too. Only reason I shut it down is because it reloads and does some type of re-installation. I’ll keep tinkering with it.
My only problem with El Capitan is Microsoft Outlook. It crashes on launch. Otherwise the system is very stable. And after Apple released JRE 6 for Mac OS X 10.11, Adobe Indesign 5.5 also works.
