Apple is suffering one of its worst iTunes outages ever today as users across the globe have been unable to access the App Store, iBooks, iCloud and iTunes for more than eight hours this morning.
In an official statement released by the company, Apple has blamed the ongoing outage on a DNS error, saying “We apologize to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning. The cause was an internal DNS error at Apple. We’re working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience.”
The people of the Internet are not patient however, and have flooded Twitter with gripes about the 8 hour long outage. It’s not just the App Store and iTunes that are affected either. Apple Pay has been rendered worthless and Apple Stores have had to pull out their old credit card machines like it’s 1999.
Here’s a sampling of some of the best Apple outage tweets:
The iTunes store might be down. But they made sure I have this iWatch icon on my phone screen. Because priorities.

If the Apple Store outage hits 9 hours we can say that it's been down "all day," right?

“The people of the Internet are not patient however…”
So silly. We (and by “we” I mean “the Internet who are not patient” referenced above), can’t wait a few hours to get back their Apple connectivity. Because these technologies work 99.9 percent of the time (or more), we falsely believe all these luxuries are necessary. It used to be said the only things we •have• to do are pay taxes and die. Though it’s still largely true, we nonetheless tack on a lot of other conditions like… stay connected in order to iMessage, share PhotoStreams, constantly check email via iCloud, buy Apple apps, and, of course, use ApplePay for lunch. How spoiled we are!
I’m quite sure really does go on, even if Apple is offline for a few hours.
In their defense some did claim loss of potential revenue
I understand, but I imagine they’ll make up any losses in no time. The Internet is as imperfect as any system, maybe more than most, and relying on it 100% is dicey. A power outage due to ice and snow would cause the same inconvenience, only worse. But I appreciate your addition!
None of these tweets implies anger or not am amused
The 9 hour all day tweet was the best XD
“No. All of you are just using it wrong. ITunes and all of our services are just so beautiful and compelling all of you want to be on it all day and it crashes” – sincerely apple.
