Apple Arcade subscribers can now enjoy special SpongeBob SquarePants content across multiple games on the platform — if they’re into that fishy sort of thing. The gaming service continues its strategy of bringing beloved characters to its exclusive titles. The latest crossover events feature the iconic Nickelodeon character in Snake.io+, Crossy Road Castle and an updated SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit game.
Said Phil Schiller, Apple fellow and former SVP for worldwide product marketing, in a post on Mastodon Social: “Jumping Jellyfish!”
Apple Arcade SpongeBob SquarePants crossover events
In an increasingly competitive mobile gaming market dominated by free-to-play titles with advertisements and microtransactions, the SpongeBob crossover events represent the type of exclusive content Apple uses to justify its subscription gaming service and its 200+ game catalog. These SpongeBob events continue Apple Arcade’s summer of character crossovers. It already featured Bluey in Fruit Ninja Classic+ and Paddington in Crayola Create and Play+. The Bluey collaboration runs until September 19 with four themed events, while Paddington’s British-inspired content remains available through August 26.
Snake.io+ gets underwater SpongeBob makeover

The popular battle royale game Snake.io+ by Kooapps introduced a limited-time underwater theme that lets players unlock four unique character skins. Subscribers can play as SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy and Plankton by completing a series of in-game missions. The special event launched this month and runs through August 25, giving Apple Arcade users several weeks to earn all the SpongeBob-themed content.
The underwater setting fits naturally with Snake.io+‘s existing gameplay mechanics. And it adds the visual flair that SpongeBob fans expect from Bikini Bottom adventures.

Hipster Whale’s cooperative platforming game Crossy Road Castle receives a major SpongeBob update with 40 new Bikini Bottom-themed levels. Players can choose to play as SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward or Sandy as they navigate through familiar underwater locations while collecting Krabby Patties and avoiding jellyfish obstacles.
The content arrives in two phases. The Krabby Patty Kollectathon event begins July 21, followed by the Jellyfish Jam running from August 4 through August 17. This staggered release gives players multiple opportunities to experience different aspects of the SpongeBob universe within the game.
SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit adds endless mode challenge

Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit received a significant update with the addition of an endless mode. This new feature challenges players to progress through increasingly difficult levels without checkpoints or extra lives. That creates a more intense experience for competitive players looking to climb the leaderboards.
The side-scrolling action game already features SpongeBob jumping, bouncing, sliding and performing fly-kicks through colorful levels. But the endless mode strips away safety nets to test player skills in a more demanding format.
