To make the most of the upcoming Lunar New Year in China, Apple is running some special offers at its stores. The sale will run from January 24-27, with Apple taking up to 1,000 yuan (~$145) off on select products.
The limited-time promotional offer should help further boost iPhone shipments in the country.
Apple rolls out Lunar New Year offer in China
Apple rarely offers direct discounts through its own stores, usually reserving price cuts for major festive periods. In China, the Lunar New Year is one of the most important shopping seasons of the year. Apple traditionally marks the occasion by offering limited-time discounts on some of its popular products. Continuing that trend, it is offering discounts of up to 1,000 yuan on its select devices.
Unfortunately, the hot-selling iPhone 17 and iPhone Air are not a part of the promotional offer. Even older Pro iPhones and Mac Studios are not eligible.
Instead, the discounts apply to products like the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e, the iPad Pro and iPad Air, AirPods, Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Series 11. The Macs eligible for the offer include the M5 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac and M4 MacBook Air.
On the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Plus, you can save 300 yuan, while the iPhone 16e gets a more modest 200 yuan discount. For Macs, the maximum 1000 yuan discount applies on the M4 Pro/Max-equipped MacBook Pro (14″ or 16″).
Discounts on the MacBook Air top out at 800 yuan. The iMac and Mac mini get 600 yuan and 400 yuan off, respectively.
Apple China is cutting 300 yuan off the AirPods Max and offering a temporary 100 yuan discount on the AirPods 4, with or without ANC.
Discounts available only on select payment methods
There are a few terms and conditions to keep in mind. The discounts apply only when you pay using select payment methods, including Alipay, WeChat Pay and certain Chinese bank cards. You’re also limited to two discounted products per category.
The Lunar New Year discounts are available in China through both Apple’s online store and its retail locations.
