The newly released AI-powered Adobe Firefly mobile app allows users to generate images and videos using text prompts on their iPhone or Android. They can also edit images with the new tool.
The application includes access to a range of AI models, including the most popular ones.
Adobe Firefly app takes AI creativity to iPhone and Android
Adobe first released Firefly back in 2023 as a tool in Photoshop to add AI-generated content to images. And on Tuesday, it came to smartphones as a stand-alone application.
The just-launched software lets users create high-resolution, commercially safe images from text prompts. Plus, it includes image editing tools for adding new content, replacing the background of an image or removing unwanted elements with Generative Fill.
In addition, the Adobe Firefly mobile app can turn a text prompt into a video clip right from an iPhone or Android. Or it can convert AI-generated images into video.

“Creators continue to impress us with the breadth and artistry of the images, videos, graphics and designs they’re dreaming up in the Firefly app using models from both Adobe and our partners,” said Ely Greenfield, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. “Our goal with Firefly is to deliver creators the most comprehensive destination on web and mobile to access the best generative models from across the industry, in a single integrated experience from ideation to generation and editing.”
Previously, Firefly supported image and video models from OpenAI, Google and Black Forest Labs, and Adobe just added access to models from Ideogram, Luma AI, Pika and Runway.
