Eighth-generation iPad refurbs are now available directly from Apple, with prices starting at just $279. The devices look and work like new, and they’re backed by the same one-year warranty that covers brand-new units.

Apple’s newest iPad was first introduced in September 2020 with a larger, 10.2-inch Retina display, faster A12 Bionic chip, Touch ID, and features like Apple Pencil and Smart Connector support. It usually starts at $329.

But if you bag a refurbished model from Apple today, you’ll save a pretty penny.

Prices start at just $279 for a 32GB device with Wi-Fi connectivity. You can also pick up 128GB models for $359, while cellular units start at $389. Silver, gold, and space gray units are currently available.

Apple refurbished devices ship with a new battery and outer shell, and they come packed in a new box with all manuals and accessories. Note, however, that the availability of refurbished devices can vary greatly over time.

As things stand, these are some of the lowest prices we’ve seen on eighth-generation iPad models to date. Amazon currently offers up to $30 off brand-new units, but prices still start at $299 — $20 more than Apple’s refurbs.

Apple also added the 2020 iPad Pro to its refurb store this week, with prices starting at $609. Unlike the 10.2-inch iPad, however, iPad Pro can be acquired elsewhere — like Best Buy — for even less.
