Don’t trust your kids with open access to your credit card? I can’t blame you. In order to let your kids have an iTunes account though, you need to enter your credit card information, giving them free reign over your purchases, right? Wrong. While it may appear this way, there is a way to set up an iTunes account that involves absolutely no credit cards at all. This video will show you what to do.

I have had a card less itunes account for a long time, this is easily topped up with a redeem card.
there is no option like this with the Android market so if you want to buy Android apps you need a credit card.

I don’t think GarageBand uses your Apple ID does it? I’m pretty sure you cant get lessons through GarageBand with iTunes authentication.

This same method works for having accounts in different iTunes stores around the world. Like, I live in Brasil, and I have an USA account (made through this method) so I can purchase apps that are not available in the brazilian iTunes Store (actually I sent Leander this workaround some time ago and he published it in Cult of Mac)

Thanks,Apple should have a look at allowing Garageband users to buy lessons with their Apple ID through the itunes app store,I can buy Garageband through the App store.
