Beautiful Indie Game Crow Flies Onto The Mac Platform This Thursday

Sunside Games announced that their well-received iOS game, Crow, is coming to the Mac platform this Thursday, August 30, 2012. Crow for the Mac will have Game Center support, including leaderboards and achievements, as well as high rez graphics and a remastered soundtrack.

“Crow has had an incredibly successful run so far on the App Store. It’s a really unique immersive experience and it demonstrates that there is a desire for something fun and different. We’re really excited to bring this experience to the Mac,” said Richard Cowgill, CEO of Sunside, Inc.

11 Bit Studios Announces Three New iOS, Mac Games At Gamescom

11 Bit Studios has had some success with Anomaly Warzone Earth, a real-time “tower offense” game that was originally released on Mac in April of 2011, then iOS in August of that same year. The company also released the game as an Xbox Live Arcade title the following April, and has a version of the title coming to the PlayStation Network soon.

This year at Gamescom, the big European video gaming conference, 11 Bit Studios announced a sequel, called Anomaly Warzone, and two new games, all coming to Mac and iOS as well as PC and Android, in the coming months.

Real Racing has been a staple of the App Store’s gaming catalog for years. As a game that pushes the boundaries of what iOS devices can do with console-like graphics, the developers behind Real Racing are always improving with new iterations. Real Racing 2 was one of the first games to take full advantage of the iPhone 4S’s faster processor and the iPad 2’s ability to stream 1080p video over AirPlay.

Now the folks at Firemonkeys (a combination of IronMonkey and Firemint’s gaming studios) have announced that Real Racing 3 is coming this year. A specific date has not been confirmed, but the game will feature real racecourses from around the world and 22 cars will be in each race.

Developed by the small team at Imangi Studios, the game has seen incredible success in Apple’s App Store and now on Android as well. In celebration of Temple Run’s one year anniversary, Imangi has announced that the game has been downloaded 100 million times across iOS and Android devices. That’s quite an incredible feat.

A Temple Run update has been released today that brings full support for the third-gen iPad’s Retina display alongside a new power-up. All of Imangi’s other paid games have also been made free in the App Store for a limited time too.
