Apple TV+ brings its first bilingual sitcom to audiences with Acapulco, a workplace comedy with a nostalgic bent. Eugenio Derbez produces and stars in this look back at Mexican resort culture in the 1980s.
Will audiences continue their love affair with the Latin star?
Aniq, played by Sam Richardson, adds to the hilarity in The Afterparty Screenshot: Apple TV+
TV industry virtuosos Phil Lord and Chris Miller created a very unusual comedy series for Apple TV+. The Afterparty is about a murder but each episode is seen through a different suspect’s perspective and shot in a different film genre.

Mr. Corman may have been too dark for audiences. Photo: Apple TV+
The final episode of the first season of Mr. Corman premiered on Apple TV+ this week, and it turns out that’s all there’ll ever be. Cupertino reportedly canceled the show, which stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
That’s a rare move by Apple’s streaming service. This is only the second show it’s nixed.
Mekhi Phifer and Octavia Spencer get closer to the truth this week. Photo: Apple TV+
The arrests and accusations fly this week on Apple TV+’s shocking crime drama, Truth Be Told. Apple TV+ wants to make you Blush. Photo: Apple TV+
Animated sci-fi short Blush is small, cute and full of heart. And it’s also a gauntlet thrown down to let the competition know Apple TV+ is getting serious about winning awards.
The long-in-the-making story debuted Friday on Apple’s streaming service, and it definitely swerves into Pixar territory — for better or worse.
Lee Pace, who plays Brother Day, is the swaggering spine of Foundation. Photo: Apple TV+
Apple TV+’s space opera ramps up this week to show us the goods. But can Foundation get to the business of exciting drama now that the world has been thoroughly built, the characters are in play, and the clock is ticking?
The show has been confident but not quite exciting yet. Let’s see if it can avoid the pitfalls that ruin a lot of Apple TV+’s original programming.
Reese Witherspoon and Julianna Margulies take each other for a ride on The Morning Show this week. Photo: Apple TV+
This week on The Morning Show, COVID-19 is here and the newsroom is in shambles ahead of its rebranding. Bradley is jealous, claustrophobic and scheming. Alex is nervous. And everyone’s on the verge of a meltdown, and making very interesting choices indeed.
Can the Apple TV+ drama get out of its own way long enough to become as interesting as it threatens to be?
Jon Stewart is back in the anchor's chair. Photo: Apple TV+
Jon Stewart is back on TV with more control, more freedom and more gray hair. His new Apple TV+ show, The Problem With Jon Stewart, debuts Thursday and promises to tackle the tough questions facing the world.
But has America missed its smart-ass in chief since he departed The Daily Show in 2015? Is there still a place for Stewart’s left-leaning (fire)brand of comedy in the modern media landscape? Can TV actually exert any kind of power on public opinion anymore? Tune in every week on Apple TV+ to find out.
If you can't watch Jon Stewart's new show because you can’t find Apple TV+, don’t blame him. Screenshot: Apple TV+
Jon Stewart wants to be sure everyone knows how to find Apple TV+. So much so, in fact, that he created a public service announcement to help all the “innocent people who may never know the pleasures of Schmigadoon.” Stewart has an ulterior motive, of course: His new talk shows debuts Thursday on the streaming service.
Watch the wackiness now. That way you can be sure to see the first episode of The Problem With Jon Stewart on Apple TV+ for free.

Wolfboy and the Everything Factory is the newest Apple TV+ children's show Photo: Apple TV+
The latest Apple TV+ children’s show, the joyously analog Wolfboy and the Everything Factory, is a celebration of creativity. Will it be the first of the Apple TV+ kids shows to make a splash outside of its subscriber base? Time will tell, but its heart is in the right place.

And once again, a stellar outburst by a supporting character steals the spotlight on this rock-solid Apple TV+ drama.
When you see Jared Harris cast in a key role, it's a sure sign your TV show is on the right track. Photo: Apple TV+
Apple TV+’s big, expensive sci-fi gamble is finally ready to cash in its bets. After years of production, Foundation — a series based on the work of Isaac Asimov and shepherded by the man who helped turn American culture into a superhero factory — is now streaming.
This very impressive sci-fi show will now have to compete in the attention economy. Can it live up to the hype?
The wait for Apple TV+’s Foundation is almost over. Photo: Apple TV+
You won’t have to wait until Friday for the much-anticipated debut of Foundation on Apple TV+. The first episode of this adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi classic will premiere2 on Apple’s streaming service three hours early, so Americans can watch it Thursday night.
The same goes for everything debuting on Apple TV+, including the latest episode of Ted Lasso.
“Foundation” looks amazing. And apocalyptic. Photo: Apple TV+
Apple TV+ is shooting for the stars with two new sci-fi series and a film this autumn. The trailers for Foundation, Invasion and Finch all look amazing. And dark. The descriptions for all of them include either “dystopian” or “apocalypse” or both.
Could we get some science fiction that’s a little more upbeat from Apple’s streaming service?
Finch is a simple tale of a man, his dog and his robot in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. OK, maybe not so simple. Photo: Apple TV+
Given all the apocalyptic storytelling in recent years, it makes sense in a Hollywood way that we’d eventually arrive at a warm-and-fuzzy, feel-good apocalypse movie. According to its first official trailer, that would be Finch, set to premiere on the Apple TV+ streaming service November 5.
Joel Cohen writes for the stage and directs the Apple TV+ adaptation of Shakespeare's bloody classic. Photo: Apple TV+
A dreary and ominous fog washes over the first Apple TV+ trailer for The Tragedy of Macbeth. That sets a suitably dark tone for the adaptation of the bloody Shakespeare classic from writer and director Joel Cohen. Black birds circle overhead.
Apple TV+ on Sunday became the first streaming service to pick up an Emmy Award in a program category, thanks to lovable football-cum-soccer coach Ted Lasso.
The series scooped prizes for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in A Comedy Series.

Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds star in the holiday musical comedy "Spirited" from Apple TV+. Photo: Apple TV+
The streets of Boston have recently been all dressed up in Christmas cheer, but not because consumerism has gone wild even earlier than usual. It’s because the Apple TV+ holiday musical comedy Spirited is in production there. Stars Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell harmonized rather nicely their entry in the TikTok “Grace Kelly challenge” while on set.
Mahershala Ali in “Swan Song,” coming soon to Apple TV+. Photo: Apple TV+
The genre-bending film Swan Song is reportedly nearing its debut on Apple TV+. It’ll star Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali, and the cast includes Glenn Close, Awkwafina and Naomie Harris.

Expect a new Apple TV+ show or movie every every few days next year. Photo: Apple TV+
Apple is reportedly ramping up the pace of new content for its streaming video service. Apple TV+ will allegedly debut a new show or movie every week in 2022.
If true, this would significantly increase the amount of content available in the service that’s about to hit its second anniversary.
