We might be waiting a while to get our hands on Apple’s second-generation AirPods, according to a prominent tipster.
The new wireless earbuds — rumored to bring “Hey Siri” support and new color options — may not appear until this fall. In the meantime, Apple could launch a wireless AirPods charging case.

AirPods are Apple’s second-best-selling new product of all time, a new report by Above Avalon analyst Neil Cybart suggests.
Cybart estimates that Apple is on track to sell 40 million pairs of AirPods in 2019. That represents almost 90 percent year-over-year growth. While impressive, this is nothing compared to the interest expressed through Google searches — which leaped up 500 percent last holiday season.

Upgraded AirPods are on the way — and a new report sheds light on new features that Apple’s next-gen wireless earbuds will supposedly boast. If you’re looking for a new color option, smart sensors, and a less droppable coating, you’re likely to be in luck.
If you’re looking for a drop in cost, on the other hand? Not so much.

Samsung is ready to take on the AirPods. Photo: Winfuture.de
Apple’s AirPods have been a massive smash hit since they launched a couple years back. It’s therefore unsurprising that rival companies would be keen to get themselves some of the sweet wireless cash — by launching their own wireless earbuds.
One of these companies, Samsung, is reportedly set to show off its own “Galaxy Buds” at its upcoming February 20 press event. And thanks to a leaked image, we have a good idea of what they’ll look like.

Apple is starting off February by serving up a fresh new beta for developers with the release of iOS 12.2 beta 2.
The new beta comes just over a week after Apple seeded the first build of iOS 12.2. That update brought Apple News support to testers in Canada, as well as new Downtime feature that lets you schedules periodically limit the number of apps you can access.

Gabrielle Reilly purchased Apple AirPods because there were no wires for her mischievous cat to chew up.
But AirPods came with a new risk of loss from slipping out of her ears. So Reilly, a paralegal from Virginia, created a set of earrings to hold her AirPods.

iOS 12.2 makes it clear you’ll be able to set up AirPods with “Hey Siri.” Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac
Buried in the just-released iOS beta is a clear reference to using “Hey Siri” with Apple’s AirPods. It’s generally assumed this addition — which will make it much easier for people on the move to give verbal commands ot their iPhone — won’t work with the current version.
And this is just one of the features expected in Apple’s next-generation wireless earbuds.

Updated AirPods are supposedly on their way in the first half of 2019, possibly bringing new health-monitoring functions to Apple’s wildly popular Bluetooth earbuds. The upgraded AirPods’ impressive new features are “expected to receive enthusiastic market responses,” according to the report.
With other companies, such as Google and Amazon, supposedly launching rival wireless earbuds this year, the move could keep Apple ahead of the curve when it comes to innovation.

Left and right ear versions of AirPods could soon be a relic of the past, based on one of Apple’s most recent patents that envisions a one-size-fits-all version of earbuds.
Apple’s completely redesigned AirPods aren’t expected to arrive until 2020, but if they use some of the tech proposed in the recently disclosed filing, they could be the smartest earbuds we’ve ever seen.
And, you guessed it, they're going to be even more expensive. Photo: Apple
Upgraded AirPods are on the way in early 2019, with a total redesign scheduled for 2020. At least, that’s according to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a new note to clients.
Kuo claims that the big improvement for next year’s AirPods will be the addition of wireless charging support. This is most likely the wireless charging case that Apple first announced back in September 2017, alongside its still MIAAirPower charging mat.

Smart watches are currently the most popular form of wearable, but ear-worn devices are expected to replace them in the coming years. The changeover will take place as AirPods and similar products gain additional features that people now get from Apple Watch and iPhone.
In less than five years, so-called “hearables” could outsell every other type ofwearable by a wide margin.

Cupertino managed to make AirPods synonymous with wireless earbuds, at least among Apple users. But the truth is, AirPods aren’t the only – and certainly aren’t the most affordable – option for wireless personal audio. In fact, you can get just as much enjoyment for a fraction of the price.
The awesome new 2018 iPad Pro deserves some awesome accessories. Photo: Andrea Nepori
You’ve got your new iPad Pro, and it’s all set up. Now, you might want to start tricking it out with accessories. The bad news is that most of your old accessories won’t work. The good news is that some of them will, and the rest can be replaced, or hooked up with dongles. Let’s check out the best accessories for the new 2018 iPad Pro.
Xiaomi has a history of ripping off Apple devices, and sometimes — but not all the time — it does a pretty good job. Its new AirDots are a perfect example of that. They’re AirPods clones (obviously) with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity that cost a measly $29.
