Almost exactly one year after it arrived on iPhone, Microsoft’s unified Office app is now finally available for iPad. The app combines Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in one single package.
That means that all your documents are in one place, and you don’t need to switch between apps depending on whether you’re editing a text document or using a spreadsheet.
“Office is now available on iPad,” reads the App Store listing for the app. “We’re combining the Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps you know into a single, iPadOS-optimized app.”
Microsoft Office for iPad is available as a free download. However, you will need to subscribe to use Office 365’s sharing and collaborative features. Users can subscribe from within the app, with subscriptions starting at $6.99 per month.
If you’re a Microsoft Office user — or just in need of the tools it offers — it’s definitely worth downloading. Not only is it extremely feature rich, compared to the stripped down likes of Google Docs, but it also now takes up significantly space on your device than having to rely on the individual Word, Excel, and other apps.
