Coronavirus cases continue to spike around the U.S. and the world — and the set of Apple TV+ shows is no exception. With several positive COVID-19 tests having been reported on the set of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, the show creator and one of its lead actors Rob McElhenney sent out a message to staff, Variety reports.
But not everyone was happy about it.
“For as alarming as this sounds, we have been expecting this for weeks,” McElhenney wrote. “The numbers in the county are spiking and consequently our numbers are doing the same. But to date there remains ZERO evidence of any transmission at work. Our set continues to be one of the safest places you can be outside of your homes.”
However, it seems that the words haven’t necessarily done what they were intended to. Instead, Variety says that McElhenney’s note has angered some people who are part of the crew. “That’s horseshit,” one person who tested positive for COVID is reported to have said. “Utter horseshit.”
The show, which is the second season of the popular Apple TV+ comedy series, is being filmed in Studio City. There have reportedly been 12 confirmed COVID cases linked to the Mythic Quest shoot.
A company hired to oversee COVID compliance that that Mythic Quest‘s crew have done a good job. “The show has operated in full compliance with the extensive health and safety protocols in place and all the recommendations set forth by the CTEH team of scientists and health experts,” the company stated.
Mythic Quest is available on Apple TV+
Mythic Quest is a comedy series about the developers at a video game company. Cult of Mac‘s review hailed it “the first show on [Apple TV+] that you’ll love.”
The first season of Mythic Quest, plus a (slightly ironically, given the news) quarantine special, is available to watch in its entirety on Apple TV+. The service costs $4.99 per month, although you can get a reduction by buying a subscription to bundle service Apple One. If you buy a new iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV+, you can also get a year’s free subscription.
Apple hasn’t revealed when season two will debut.
