Many people would like to add a few ports to their MacBook Pro, but Hyper just launched a hub for people who’d like to add a ridiculous number.
The HyperDrive Ultimate Ultimate Hub offers more than three dozen ports, in an unbelievably wide variety. It goes a long way toward turning a MacBook into a desktop PC.
It crams nine USB-C ports into its foolishly thick chassis, along with nine USB-A ports. There are HDMI, VGA and Mini DVI ports, plus two DisplayPorts.
Is this too ultimate?
The Ultimate Ultimate Hub’s Ethernet port is supplemented by Firewire 400 and Firewire 800 ports, a Parallel port, a Serial Port, two RCA connectors and even an RJ-11 Modem for anyone needing to go old-school.
Speaking of retro tech, don’t overlook the floppy drive. It also comes with a built-in speaker.
But don’t think for a minute that this product isn’t portable. It includes a 100Wh/27,000mAh airline-safe battery pack.
Hyper is asking $99.99 for the HyperDrive Ultimate Ultimate Hub. Anyone wishing to order one should take a glance at the calendar and consider what day it is before whipping out a credit card.
Consider the HyperDrive Ultimate Hub instead
On days besides April 1, a better option is this company’s HyperDrive Ultimate Hub, which packs a (relatively measly but still pretty awesome) 11 ports, starting with VGA, 4K HDMI and 4K Mini DisplayPort. There’s gigabit Ethernet, a USB-C port, and three USB-A ports, too.
This actually real hub also has SD and microSD card readers, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It sells for $139.99 on hypershop.com.
