This week we shoot and edit video with Adobe’s new Premier Rush, get into the long-awaited Drafts for Mac beta, and clean up our Photo Library with BestPhotos.
Drafts for Mac beta
Drafts, the most useful app on iOS, is finally available for the Mac — in beta form at least. The beta can be downloaded right now, but you can only use it if you are already a Drafts Pro subscription
Drafts for Mac has the full editing and note-organizing experience from iOS.
For capture, you can easily pop open a quick-entry box from anywhere on the Mac, using. keyboard shortcut.
To get the beta, you just have to head over to the Drafts for Mac beta page and download the latest version.
Adobe Premiere Rush
Premiere Rush is Adobe’s answer to iMovie, and it’s pretty great. In fact, it’s a lot easier to use than iMovie, because it isn’t hampered by one of Apple’s hard-to-understand interfaces. You can quickly edit, chop, and rearrange clips, add titles, filters and transitions, and music. Then, you can export the result straight to social networks.
You’ll need a subscription to keep using Rush, though, which is a but much considering that this isn’t exactly the full version of Premier, only on the iPad. On the other hand, you can open your Rush projects in Premiere Pro.
Also, you can’t import video or audio clips from the Files app — you have to use Dropbox.
Still, if you want to take it for a Spin, Premier Rush is free to download.

Bias FX for iPhone
Bias FX is one of the top 5 guitar amp and effects simulation apps for iOS. Until now, though, it’s been iPad-only. This week’s update turns Bias FX universal, so you can plug in a guitar, plug in a speaker, and get rocking with just your iPhone. And just like the iPad version, it integrates with Bias Amp to let you design guitar amps, right down to the circuitry inside them, and import them into Bias FX.

BestPhotos
BestPhotos is a neat app for tidying up your Photo Library. In its simplest mode, it shows you one picture at a time, and you swipe left to delete, right to favorite, and up/down to move to the next/previous photo. It’s like a Tindr for photos, and the basic app is free.
But you can also get a bit fancier. Pay a few bucks and you can narrow in on vertical videos, screenshots/screen recordings, HDR images, Portrait Mode photos, and more. You can also browse likely duplicates, and photos taken together, so you can delete the cruft and keep the best.
One of the cleverest filters is the one that finds accidental videos, clips that are so short that you probably meant to take a photo. I deleted a whole lot of these.
