Update: Apple added faster 7.5-watt wireless charging in iOS 11.2, which is currently in beta. We’ve updated this guide and placed compatible fast-charging pads at the top of the list.
Apple’s new iPhone lineup finally supports wireless charging. Both the iPhone X and the iPhone 8/8 Plus use the Qi standard that’s been popular for years. That means you can choose from an endless list of compatible charging pads, mats and stands already on the market.
So, which one(s) should you buy? We’ve rounded up some of the best iPhone wireless chargers to make your buying decision a little bit easier.
Best wireless charging pads
We’ve picked wireless chargers that sit flat on your desk, mount to the dashboard of your car, and stand your iPhone upright so it’s easier to see its display. There’s even one that doubles as a lamp.
They’re all Qi-compatible, which means they’re not just for iPhone — but almost any smartphone with wireless charging capabilities. And they will all work through lightweight cases.

Apple AirPower

Photo: Apple
The ultimate charging pad for iPhone has to be the Apple AirPower, though you’ll have to wait until next year to get your hands on it. (And you might have to pay $199!)
Still, if you can wait that long (and can afford it), the AirPower iPhone charging pad looks beautifully designed. The ultra-thin mat can charge multiple devices simultaneously. That means you can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch and (second-gen) AirPods all at once — or any other device that’s compatible with the Qi standard. It also uses a Lightning cable, unlike any of the other options listed here, so it’s perfect for Apple fans.
We don’t yet know when exactly AirPower will be available, or how much it will cost. Apple says it’s launching in 2018, so if you don’t want to wait until then for wireless charging, we recommend picking up one of the more affordable devices above in the meantime.

Hi there! I have some issues when I’m charging my iPhone 8+, but with my 12W iPad charger. When it get 80% charged, it gets stucked there for a while. Last time I tried, it got stucked for 30 minutes on 80%. I had to reboot iPhone for get the battery percentage correct: 87%. I don’t know if it is a hardware or software issue.
I purchased a Choetech charger from Amazon…no issues charging with a TPU case.
Yes, me too. Bought four: on kitchen table, by computer desk (iMac), in car/travel bag, & bedside stand.
Anker also perform well too.
Bought the Samsung charger and it doesn’t change green when fully charged. I exchanged it with a more expensive Samsung charger and the same thing happened. I thought maybe my iPhone X had to be shut off to work properly, and still no good. I have a constant blue light on the charger which means to me that the charger is still charging after it reaches 100%. I may have to take this back.
Actually the blue to green feature only works with Samsung phones, so there is nothing wrong with your chargers. Even when the iPhone or other non-Samsung products are charged to 100%, the led on the charger will not change if it is not a Samsung phone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and I use the Samsung fast charge mat. The blue light only indicates that the charger has detected a device and is charging. It never changes to indicate battery status. It’s just an “ON” light.
IF there is a weak/bad connection, such as a device not centered or not making good contact, the blue light will flash letting you know to remove the dive and replace it correctly on the mat.
What’s the difference between the watch one and second gen in terms of charging? I have a 1st gen and I love the fact that I charge all of my devices on the Airpower unit
According to Apple’s site, Air Power will not work with the Series 1 Apple Watch most likely due to a hardware change that came in the later models.
will quick charge make the battery deteriorate faster? and which of these is the fastest charger
Do you have to remove the phone case in order for the charger to work?
I bought a QI Wireless charger from DHgate for my iPhone X for $44 US It works a treat. Even with a Thick case charges no problem every time. Good old apple release the phone but don’t release the charger.
