Apple’s new iPhone lineup this fall may not contain the most exciting updates ever, but it may pack an under-rated feature fans have been begging for years: better battery life.

The upcoming iPhone 7 may pack a juicy 1960mAh battery inside its simplified shell, according to a new rumor from OnLeaks. The often-reliable Apple leaker says he’s not 100% sure it will happen, but he’s right, it would be about a 15% increase in capacity over the 1715mAh battery in the iPhone 6s.

A better battery would be a big upgrade for iPhone users who don’t want to buy the Plus-sized iPhone models to get the best battery life. Seems how Apple is likely to remove the headphone jack, we hope they manage to squeeze in a couple more hours of battery life during normal usage.

Other new features to the iPhone 7 are expected to include a second speaker on the bottom, simplified antenna, new home button design, larger camera on the iPhone 7 and a dual lens camera on the iPhone 7 Plus or iPhone 7 Pro.

Full details of the new devices aren’t expected to be revealed until September.

I would just love a “Timed DND” that you could default to x hours. I always forget to turn off the quiet mode after a meeting.

1900 mah is still tiny. Most other none apple smart phones come with a minimum of 2000 mah as high as 2700mah. I love the iPhone, but 1900 mah is not enough.

And most other non apple smart phones chew through battery life embarrassingly fast, resulting in similar actual use hours to iPhone.

Probably a pretty safe bet to ‘leak’ info regarding a next gen device having some sort of battery life increase — could be used as a rumor-template for any smartphone, Apple or not ;-)

“Everybody wants?” No. My 6S is usually at 30% when I plug it in before going to bed, so battery life is fine. Water proofing would be nice, however, as would starting memory capacity higher than 16GB. Maybe a price drop, while you’re at it?

I am not sure why Apple fanboys are making a big deal out of 15% battery increase. 1960 mAH is still pretty small to today’s standard. I will still need to carry my battery juice to survive the whole day.

Sigh… Here we go getting caught up in specs on a sheet again. The iPhone uses battery life more efficiently than any other smartphone, and doesn’t need as many mah to have the same battery life. My wife uses her phone all day, in what I would consider to be normal use, and rarely ever has to plug in her phone before bedtime (That’s the target, all day battery life). I use it like crazy for my transportation job, so it just stays plugged in all the time.

I am not quite sure what is the true definition of “normal use” now a day. All I know is I have to charge my phone in the middle of the day to prevent getting battery drain before I go to bed.

I guess they didn’t take account for all those people (including me) playing Pokemon Go. Battery still not enough! lol

This article is absolutely useless clickbait. All it tells us is the obvious thing that happens every generation: the battery improves. I would expect more depth from Cult of Mac, but maybe times are tough?

Damn…..COM isn’t what it used to be a couple of years back….shame…
