Want a taste of Apple’s latest operating systems without messing around with unstable betas? You can now download the latest wallpapers from iOS 10 and macOS Sierra for use on your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Coming this fall, iOS 10 and macOS Sierra bring a whole host of big changes and improvements, including features like the Universal Clipboard, Auto-Unlock and Siri on your desktop.
With all these changes, it’s tempting to grab a developer preview and install it right away, but there are big downsides that come with major releases like this one. They’re normally slow at first, incompatible with all your apps, and very unstable.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t get a taste of the new updates right away. Here are Apple’s latest wallpapers from both updates! Click the images to open them in full resolution, then save them to your device before applying to your background.

None of these are original files found in the wallpaper directory on iOS devices. And since when is iPad square? 2048px is low-res. It has to be at least 5000+ pixels. Can’t remember the exact number.
The iPad ones are always square like that to account for when you flip the orientation. The 9.7in models are 2048×1536. So that’s why the wallpapers for them are 2048×2048.
Apple’s wallpaper images for 9.7″ Retina iPads are actually 2524 × 2524 pixels, the extra pixels being used to achieve the optional perspective (née parallax) effect.
Too ugly. At least the mac OS one..
