Two more banks in the U.K. have hopped on the Apple Pay bandwagon, just in time for the holiday shopping season — with both TSB and Tesco Bank confirming that they now offer Apple Pay support for their payment cards.
In the U.K., Apple Pay is also available for customers of Lloyds, Natwest, Santander, Nationwide, RBS, Ulster Bank, MBNA, American Express, HSBC, and First Direct.
The only major holdout remains Barclays, which has said that it plans to offer Apple Pay “very early in the New Year.”
Interestingly, despite Tesco Bank now offering Apple Pay, its accompanying chain of supermarkets don’t all offer NFC payments. However, on the whole NFC technology is more established in the U.K. than it is in the U.S., which means that customers don’t need to be sold on Apple Pay in quite the same way they do elsewhere.
