Popular web reading platform Readability has launched its official iOS in the App Store. iPhone and iPad uses can download the free app to access their Readability accounts and read optimized web pages on the go.
Originally previewed several days ago, the native iOS app gives you a beautifully formatted view of the articles you save on the web to read later.
Readability for iOS is the product of a collaboration between the Readability team and the talented designers and builders at Teehan+Lax. It also sports beautiful typography from none other than Hoefler & Frere-Jones.
While most of the app’s features are free, you’ll need a paid subscription to access more than your most recent articles in the app’s Reading List.
Readability is integrated into many popular social and productivity apps in the App Store, and articles can be saved using the browser add-ons available for the desktop. What you’re reading can be shared with your friends via networks like Twitter inside the native iOS app.

I don’t see why someone would pay $5/mo for something they can get much cheaper with ReadItLater.

I thought Readability was free. Instapaper has a monthly fee if you want it.
The free version is limited to your last 30 items. You have to pay if you want the rest.
I just read the description on the web page and it mentions a subscription but nothing limited to 30 articles…
I might have outdated information. I’ll experiment with it.
I love the fact I can save something from chrome then read it on the bus on the way to work… so simple yet effective. perfect
