Aqara showcased its new Smart Lock U200, Camera E1, Dual Relay Module T2 and Ceiling Light T1M at IFA 2023 in Berlin, Germany, last week, the company said.

The products support the Matter home automation standard and should go on sale in the coming months, Aqara said.

Many technology companies are exhibiting wares at IFA, which ended Tuesday. Aqara is just one of them.

“Aqara is at the forefront of innovating the smart home experience, and these new products are a testament to our dedication,” said Cathy You, Aqara senior vice president of global business and strategy. “Each of them is crafted with the user’s convenience and lifestyle in mind, reflecting our commitment to quality and innovation.”

Here’s what’s coming to market in the United States (in addition to these, a new wall outlet is planned for the EU):

Smart Lock U200

The new smart lock is not a replacement lock, but a retrofit. As Aqara described it:

The lock operates with existing cylinders and requires no drilling or door modifications. As Aqara’s first Matter-over-Thread smart lock, the U200 will be interoperable with a wide array of smart home ecosystems and products. Using an Aqara NFC card or specified NFC-enabled mobile devices, users can unlock easier than ever before.

Other options for secure access are auto-unlock, fingerprints, PIN codes and mobile apps. Aqara plans to run its first  crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for the lock later in 2023.

Camera E1

Similar to Aqara’s other indoor home cameras, the 2K Pan/Tilt Camera E1 supports major third-party platforms like Apple Home (including HomeKit Secure Video), Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity enable smooth live view and easy pairing.

It also features AI-enabled person detection, person tracking and flexible storage options such as cloud storage, microSD card and NAS storage.

Dual Relay Module T2

Aqara’s Dual Relay Module T2 enables control of devices including lights, motorized window coverings, garage doors, boilers, electric heaters and underfloor heating, the company said.

Built on Zigbee 3.0, the dual relay module features Matter-over-bridge support and is compatible with major third-party platforms. It also allows users to monitor energy consumption. Safety features include overheat protection, overload protection and configurable power limits.

Powered by AC (100-250V) or DC (24-60V), the two-channel relay supports total (and per-channel) loads of up to 10 amperes.

Ceiling Light T1M

In August 2023, Aqara put out its LED Strip T1. Now comes its second smart lighting device. Ceiling Light T1M, 50CM in diameter, offers a broad spectrum of hues from dimmable whites to 16 million vibrant colors.

In addition, it features an independently addressable RGB ring for gradient effects and integration into home automation. You can use the RGB ring as a status light to indicate issues like an open door or water leak, Aqara said.

Like other Aqara Zigbee devices, the light features low idle consumption, Matter-over-bridge support and wide compatibility.
