The company that made the Brydge line of innovative iPad keyboards collapsed earlier this year, but a deal announced Thursday will return its products to the market.

Uinta Products is a new company with many former Brydge employees — and the rights to make Brydge-branded products.

Brydge is dead but Brydge keyboards live on

Brydge made a variety of products, but the best known is a series of clip-on keyboards for the iPad line. These were turning tablets into highly functional convertible laptops long before Apple make its first iPad keyboard, and are among the strongest competitors for the Apple Magic Keyboard Case.

But the company went into liquidation earlier in 2023 amidst accusations of mismanagement.

That’s not the end of the story. Uinta Products acquired its assets. The new company is led by Leon Rossi, former CFO of Brydge, and Alan Way, Brydge’s former Head of Sales, and intends to build the business back up.

“We want to assure all stakeholders that we are committed to rebuilding this business stronger and better,” said Rossi in a statement. “Uinta is excited to relaunch Brydge back into the market. With Brydge’s history of quality and innovative products we are looking forward to a successful endeavour.”

The deal to acquire Brydge’s assets came with the help of Claret Capital Partners.

Uinta has not yet announced when products like the Brydge Max+ iPad keyboard will once again be available for purchase.
