Apple TV+ has a trio of new children’s shows coming this spring. There’s Eva the Owlet and Frog and Toad, plus Jane, inspired by the work of primatologist Jane Goodall.
And that’s not all. Apple’s streaming service already has many shows for children, and several of these will get new seasons soon. Apple is also bringing back A Charlie Brown Valentine in February.
New kids’ shows on Apple TV+
Take off with Eva the Owlet
The New York Times bestselling Scholastic book series Owl Diaries, by award-winning author Rebecca Elliott, is being turned into Eva the Owlet. Eva is a creative, cheeky young owl who goes on high-flying adventures with her best friend Lucy in the woodland world of Treetopington.
There’s a lot of talent flowing into the production. Head series writers are Annabeth Bondor-Stone and Connor White, both from adorable Apple TV+ show Helpsters (and also Daytime Emmy Award nominees). Eva the Owlet is being produced by Scholastic Entertainment’s Peabody and Daytime Emmy Award-winning team.
Eva the Owlet premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 31, 2023.
Jane on Apple TV+ protects endangered animals
In Jane, 9-year-old budding environmentalist Jane Garcia is on a quest to save endangered animals. She and Greybeard the chimpanzee go on epic adventures to help protect wild animals all around the world in the show.
It is a live-action/CGI blended series created in cooperation with the Jane Goodall Institute.
Jane launches Friday, April 14, 2023, on Apple TV+.
Hop on board Frog and Toad
Frog and Toad are friends who understand that the true secret of friendship is not only enjoying the things you have in common, but also embracing the things that make each of us different. They’ll explore the differences that make us special in Frog and Toad.
The upcoming Apple TV+ show is based on the Caldecott and Newbery Award-winning four-book series by Arnold Lobel. Emmy winner Rob Hoegee (Stillwater, Niko and the Sword of Light) serves as showrunner for the series.
Frog and Toad premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 28, 2023.
4 children’s series return to Apple TV+
Other new kids’ shows start sooner on Apple’s streaming service. Subscribers can look forward to all-new seasons of Pinecone & Pony on February 3, Pretzel and the Puppies on February 24, Harriet the Spy on May 5 and Stillwater on May 19.
And that’s not all. More classic Peanuts shows will soon be released to fans, many for the first time in decades. That includes 2002’s A Charlie Brown Valentine, which arrives on February 9. A Sago Mini Friends Earth Day special will premiere on April 14.
