Apple’s online store has gone offline ahead of the rumored M2 iPad Pro announcement later today. Tim Cook also shared a teaser about the new iPads on Twitter.

Rumors have indicated that Apple will announce new iPads in late October. It is unclear if the company will unveil the new M2 MacBook Pros today as well.

Update: The wait is over. Apple unveiled the 2022 iPad Pro and iPad 10 on Tuesday. There’s also a faster Apple TV 4K on the way.

Alongside the M2 iPad Pro, Apple could also announce the revamped entry-level iPad 10 with a USB-C port. Cases for the new tablet have already started showing up in retail stores, hinting at its imminent launch. They also suggest the tablet would support the second-gen Apple Pencil.

A teaser tweet from Apple’s CEO Tim Cook further hints at the impending launch of the new iPads.

It is typical of Apple to take down its online store ahead of new product releases. Initial rumors suggested the company would announce the new iPads and 2022 MacBook Pros at a media event in October. But given the minor hardware upgrades, recent reports from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman indicated the products would be launched via a press release.

New iPad Pro could pack a powerful M2 processor

Leaks indicate the M2 iPad Pro will retain the same design as the 2021 models. It will, however, feature the more powerful M2 chip, which debuted on the 2022 MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro earlier this year.

Tipsters have claimed the 2022 iPad Pros will feature MagSafe wireless charging along with a couple of mystery ports. Sadly, the 11-inch iPad Pro is again expected to miss out on a mini-LED panel like its bigger sibling for another year.

The new iPads should go up for pre-order today or later this week and launch next week. Apple should also release iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura to the public in the week beginning October 24.
