New Carpool Karaoke season heads for Apple TV+

Carpool Karaoke: The Series is reportedly getting fifth season and is becoming part of Apple TV+. The Emmy-winning program by James Cordon debuted years before Apple’s streaming service was around but now the two are coming together.

Carpool Karaoke is just what it sounds like

The show puts celebrities in cars and asks them to sing their favorite songs. That includes Alicia Keys and John Legend, Trevor Noah with Shakira, the cast of Stranger Things and more.

Deadline reports Apple committed to Carpool Karaoke’s fifth season, and it making it part of its streaming service. There’s no word on when it with premiere, however.

The show is a spin-off of from the popular segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden. Each of its first three seasons won the Emmy for the “Short form variety series” category, and its fourth season is up for the same award.

Previous seasons of Carpool Karaoke are available through the Apple TV app. Watching the upcoming season will require a $4.99-a-month subscription to Apple TV+.
