Today Logitech launched two sets of earbuds aimed at helping professionals connect in hybrid remote and onsite workplaces. Its Zone True Wireless and Zone Wired earbuds are the first targeted for certification “by all three major cloud video conferencing platforms: Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom Video Communications,” the company said.

“Current wireless solutions force consumers to compromise between either traditional headsets that are not aesthetically suited for video calling, or sub-optimal audio performance,” said Scott Wharton, general manager and vice president, Logitech Video Collaboration.

“With Zone True Wireless and Zone Wired Earbuds, you no longer have to compromise,” he added. “These earbuds were designed so people look great on video calls and have best-in-class audio certified by the top video platforms.”

Essentially, sleek modern earbuds look better than a clunky ol’ headset on a video call, right? And of course you need great sound, too.

With the Logitech Zone True Wireless set, the company sought to upgrade video calls with the earbud shape and fit its users already like. Then it combined that minimalist design with powerful audio suitable to professionals.

Equipped with a premium noise-canceling mic and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), the aim was to give the earbuds clear audio on calls, regardless of distracting surroundings.

Bluetooth plus a USB receiver provide a reliable connection between the earbuds and a smartphone and computer. That’s multipoint Bluetooth pairing. It allows users to join virtually any video meeting or phone call,  quickly switching back and forth if necessary.

And the earbuds boast double the battery life of leading consumer devices, Logitech said.

The certification with major video conferencing platforms sets a higher bar for audio than leading consumer offerings, the company added. And for IT managers, it provides reliable performance across multiple devices in their system.

The earbuds are waterproof and dust-proof. The rating of IP68 allows for more water exposure than just a sweaty workout at the gym. The case is water-resistant, too, with an IP54 rating.

For listening to music, battery life is rated at up to 7 hours with ANC turned on and up to 12 hours with it off, the company said. Talk time is rated at 6 hours with ANC and 6.5 hours without it.

Zone True Wireless will be available in graphite and rose colors.

Logitech Zone Wired Earbuds

Alongside Zone True Wireless Earbuds, Logitech also looked ahead to its release of Zone Wired Earbuds. They will provide a new option for professionals and teams who want a professional-grade, plug-and-play set off buds. The wired earbuds allow users to join calls from anywhere via USB-C, USB-A and 3.5mm connectors.

Price: $299 for Logitech Zone True Wireless Earbuds. $99 for Zone Wired Earbuds. Release expected in fall 2021.

Where to buy: Availability will be wide, but the rose-colored Zone True Wireless Earbuds will go on sale initially only on Logitech.com.
