A number of new Apple devices including Apple Watch Series 7 and two new MacBook Pro models have appeared in regulatory filings ahead of an official unveiling. The listings suggest we could see a launch in the near future.
Recent reports have suggested Apple’s next MacBook Pro refresh is still on track for a 2021 unveiling, while we expect a new Apple Watch to appear alongside the next-generation iPhone lineup sometime this fall.
New Apple filings with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) indicate Cupertino is indeed planning new product launches soon. But what exactly can we expect?
Faster MacBook Pro models
In total, there are actually 19 new entries for Mac models in the database, but 17 of them are related to current Apple products. They’ve been re-listed with new operating systems — macOS 12 Monterey — ahead of its rollout this fall.
The other two entries are related to “Apple brand laptop personal computers” that are listed with the model numbers A2442 and A2485. These are believed to be the new MacBook Pro upgrades we’ve been expecting for some months.
The refreshed machines are expected to sport new designs, perhaps with larger displays, and faster “M1X” processors. They are expected to accompany the 13-inch MacBook Pro and replace the 16-inch model in Apple’s lineup.
Apple Watch Series 7
The EEC database also includes six new listings for previously unknown “personal wearable electronic devices of the Apple brand.” They have the model numbers A2473, A2474, A2475, A2476, A2477, and A2478.
These are believed to be various models of Apple Watch Series 7, which is expected to launch alongside “iPhone 13.” The entries confirm that the devices run watchOS 8 — also scheduled to make its debut this fall.
According to recent rumors, Apple Watch Series 7 could bring an even better display, Ultra Wideband functionality — the same tracking tech found in AirTag — and new health tracking capabilities. It could also sport a new design.
