A big update has come to popular iPad video editing app LumaFusion with version 3.0. It adds video stabilization, external drive editing, a graphic equalizer and more.

In other words, switching between a video editing program on your computer and a lighter app on your iPad just got less necessary. And speaking of robust video editing programs, Final Cut has still not come to iPadOS — so, good thing LumaVision is picking up more pro-level features.

LumaFusion adds powerful pro features

LumaFusion is already robust, taking advantage of Apple Pencil and the touch screen to allow folks to edit videos and sound while out and about. See the major new featues added to LumaFusion 3.0 in the list below.

All new features are available to all iPads except external drive editing and export, which require an iPad with a USB-C or Thunderbolt port.

Video stabilization

A new Stabilizer tool in the clip editor integrates Lock and Load video stabilization technology from CoreMelt. No need to bring a clip over to your laptop to apply this crucial function to a shaky video.

External drive editing

On iPads with USB-C or Thunderbolt ports, you can now access media directly from external drives in the Files library. Using the Timeline, you can edit without copying files to device storage. The feature is turned on by default. You can turn it off in Preferences, enabling copying of media into LumaFusion from an external drive.

Direct export from external drive

On USB-C and Thunderbolt iPads, use the Files extension to export directly to an external drive without saving the file to internal iPad storage.

Graphic equalizer

The new EQ and its Audio Tool help you add third-party audio units involved in your project and tune audio per their specifications. LumaFusion supports editing parameters both in its control stack and in third-party tools’ custom UIs.

Numeric keypad for sliders and rotation controls

You can easily use numeric data entry for more accurate animation by tapping on the pencil button. The app’s nudge buttons are now in the numeric keypad.

Resizable interface elements

You can adjust the workspace layout by dragging a handle to adjust the footprint of tools like preview, library, and timeline.

LumaFusion version 3.0 also adds a number of fixes and small improvements, including clearer graphical elements and updated interface styling.
