The trailer for season two of Apple TV+ series See gives us our first glimpse of new star Dave Bautista in the post-apocalyptic series. Bautista is best known for playing Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, as well as for his Batista-bombing escapades as a former heavyweight champ in WWE.

In See season two he plays Edo Voss, brother of Jason Momoa’s character Baba Voss. Check out the trailer below.

The second season of See will premiere on Apple TV+ Friday, August 27. New episodes will air every Friday after that. According to Bautista’s IMDB profile, he stars in all eight episodes of the new series. Alongside Bautista, co-star Momoa will return, in addition to new series regulars Eden Epstein, Tom Mison, Hoon Lee, Olivia Cheng, David Hewlett, and Tamara Tunie. Alfre Woodard as Paris, Hera Hilmar as Maghra, Sylvia Hoeks as Queen Kane, and Christian Carmago as Tamacti Jun will all return from season one.

Deadline reports that Apple has already renewed See for a third season. Its report reveals that:

“[T]he pickup happened quietly awhile ago, with filming on Season 3 currently underway in Toronto, Canada. (Apple opted to shoot Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back, I hear.)”

Apple hasn’t revealed details of how many people tuned in to watch the first season of See. This isn’t unusual, as Apple hasn’t shared much in the way of metrics for Apple TV+ at all. On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season of See has a critical score of 43%, suggesting a very mixed response. However, the audience reviews stand at 85%, meaning that most viewers enjoyed it. The entire first season is currently available to watch on Apple TV+.

It’s too early, of course, to know what this means for season two. But leaning into the madcap goofiness of the premise, and adding more charismatic and muscular action stars in the top spots, seems a smart move on Apple’s part. It’s a formula that worked very well for the Fast and the Furious movies.
