Apple has commemorated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by changing up the image on its homepage to showcase a photo and quote from the legendary civil rights leader.

“True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice,” reads the quotation. To this, Apple ads,  “We honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his leadership in civil rights.”

Apple has long championed MLK Day by changing its homepage. CEO Tim Cook has frequently described King as being one of his personal heroes. In his office at Apple Park, Cook has a photo of Martin Luther King on display, alongside one of Robert Kennedy.

Apple continues to to publicly support the racial equality initiatives MLK sought to promote. Recently, it announced new donations being made as part of its Racial Equity and Justice Initiative. This project, for which Apple has announced a $100 million fund, is designed to fight systemic racism and advance racial equity across the United States.

The U.S. celebrates King’s birthday each year with a national holiday on the third Monday of January. Apple has previously offered special gift-matching promotions, donating $50 for every voluntary hour worked by its employees on this day. Apple also allows employees to take the day off if they wish.
