Apple TV+ is getting into the holiday spirit with a number of family friendly new shows (and one beloved classic) arriving on the streaming service to kickstart the festive season.

The big two festive-themed debuts are the one-off Mariah Carey’s Magic Christmas Special (reviewed here) and the Apple TV+ debut of the 1965 animated television special, A Charlie Brown Christmas. (The latter will also air on PBS and PBS Kids on Sunday, December 13.)

That’s not all…

Earth at Night in Color, narrated by Tom Hiddleston, is a nature series that looks at the nocturnal habits of animals across six continents. There are six episodes available to view: “Lion Grasslands,” “Tarsier Forest,” “Jaguar Jungle,” “Bear Woodlands,” “Wild Cities” and “Cheetah Plains.”

Read our review (“Feast your eyes on Earth at Night in Color“) and you’ll be queueing this one up for sure.

There’s also Stillwater, based on a popular book series, about a wise panda called, well, Stillwater. As Apple’s preview notes: “His friendship and stories give [siblings Karl, Addy, and Michael] new perspectives on the world, themselves, and each other.” There are six episodes in total, each of which has two stories.

This one sounds like a winner, too. (Here’s our review: “Stillwater will teach kids how to avoid meltdowns.”)

Available to watch on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ is available for $4.99 per month, or for free for one year if you buy a new iPad, iPhone, Mac or Apple TV. You can also get a reduced monthly rate if you subscribe to Apple One, the company’s bundle subscription service.

Now more than a year old, Apple TV+ has plenty of quality shows (and a growing number of quality movies) to offer. You can check out our list of the very best it has to offer here. If you’re not yet a subscriber, the holidays are the perfect time to give it a go and see what Apple’s busy production execs have been up to.
