Touring the world ain’t exactly easy right now — which is why it’s good that Mario Kart Tour is there to fulfill your globe-hopping needs. The hit Nintendo kart racing game has already taken players to New York, Tokyo, Paris, London, and other exotic locales. Now it’s headed for the tropical Jungle in its latest tour.

Check out the trailer for the Jungle Tour below.

Mario Kart Tour‘s latest update doesn’t just bring more jungle-based tracks, however. It also introduces the characters of Dixie and Funky Kong. While Funky has previously appeared as an unlockable in Mario Kart games, this is, to the best of my knowledge, the first time Dixie Kong has been a part of the franchise. (Although not the first time she’s appeared in a kart racer as fans of Diddy Kong Racing DS will know.)

There’s also a new vehicle in the form of the Rambi Rider kart. While the Jungle Tour will only be available for a couple of weeks, vehicles and characters hang around afterwards once you get them.

Mario Kart Tour goes from London to the jungle

Mario Kart Tour arrived on iPhone and iPad in September 2019. It has been a big hit for Nintendo in terms of downloads and spending on in-app purchases. According to Apple, it was the most downloaded App Store game of 2019.

Nintendo has managed to keep it fresh by continually adding new features since its debut. These include regular additions of new tracks, characters, and modes. In March, Nintendo rolled out a multiplayer mode for all players (rather than just an initial few for the beta.) Earlier this month, it added to this with a new Team Races mode, allowing players to form into four separate teams for races.

If you haven’t tried out Mario Kart Tour, you can download it for free from the App Store. While the game does include in-app purchases, these aren’t necessary for you to enjoy some fun racing action.
