Any pro wrasslin’ fans out there are likely to be happy with the latest injection of new characters for the popular iOS game The King of Fighters Allstar — which revealed Wednesday that it is adding a host of current and former WWE wrestlers to its character roster.

Check out the new character trailer below.

King of Fighters is best known as a long-running and hugely popular fighting game franchise. King of Fighters Allstar includes plenty of action, and more than 50 fighters from the series. But it also adds action-RPG elements to the mix. Your goal is to build the best team of fighters possible. You then use them to kick ass in a side-scrolling beat ’em up format. The game debuted on iOS last October.

WWE meets King of Fighters: A welcome crossover

The new WWE crossover is unexpected, but welcome. WWE wrestlers, with their iconic movesets and larger-than-life personas, are a surprisingly perfect fit for the world of King of Fighters. Over the years, there have only been a few non-wrestling WWE games (such as the wacky WWE WrestleMania XIX game mode in which you have to beat up construction workers to stop a new arena being built), but I’ve always thought they were surprisingly good fun. By incorporating popular wrestlers into a popular existing game, as is the case here, you get the best of both worlds.

Wrestlers featured in the new The King of Fighters Allstar update include The Rock, John Cena, The Undertaker, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and Kofi Kingston. In the real world, four out of these six are currently out of regular action. That makes it not the best representation of the WWE roster circa 2020. But it’s a pretty great mix of characters nonetheless.

The new WWE characters will be available today. You can download The King of Fighters Allstar from the App Store for free here.
