Apple TV+ show For All Mankind is currently between seasons — with season one concluded, but season two stalled by the same production challenges facing everyone in Hollywood right now.

To make sure that the retro space drama stays in people’s minds, however, Apple Wednesday dropped a new video providing a narrated tour of one of the show’s locations. Check it out below.

In the show, Jamestown is the name of the first permanent base established on the Moon. The 5-minute video features a virtual tour of the location, narrated by former real-life astronaut Garrett Reisman, who serves as For All Mankind‘s technical advisor.

While he, tongue-in-cheek, notes that Jamestown is “not exactly a five-star hotel,” it’s nonetheless pretty cool to get a detailed look around a Moon base that’s been created with realism in mind.

For All Mankind: The story so far

For All Mankind was part of the first wave of shows to debut on Apple TV+ when it debuted in November. Its 10-episode first season concluded in December 2019.

The show was co-created by Ronald D. Moore, a Star Trek veteran who masterminded the gritty Battlestar Galactica reboot. It is set in an alternate history where the Soviets were first to land on the Moon. With its retro futurism (it’s set in the past, but one where the push into space went further than in our own reality), the show is a fascinating take on a history that could have happened.

For All Mankind‘s first season is currently available to be viewed in its entirety with an Apple TV+ subscription. By continuing to release videos such as this, Apple is no doubt hoping that new viewers are prompted to check out existing content on Apple TV+, as well as waiting for new shows.

However, it’s also a reminder that For All Mankind season two will be on the way before too much longer. At present, production has stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
