The official Apple Support iOS app got a facelift, including adding step-by-step guides to fixing common problems. And Dark Mode, too.

The app runs on iPhone or iPad, but offers information on Mac, AirPods and many other Apple products and services.

What’s new in Apple Support 4.0

The list of changes in Apple Support 4.0 promises “smarter solutions for even more topics using guided, step-by-step troubleshooting.”

Plus, the user interface has been updated to highlight information on just the products and services each user has, like an iPhone 11 or an Apple Arcade subscription.

More important than ever

Apple split this application out from the Apple Store app back in 2016. “Get the support you need for the Apple products you love — all in one place,“ the company says.

It helps users self-diagnose problems, manage their subscriptions, reset their passwords, and more. The software can also set up chat or call sessions with Apple Support people.

Ordinarily, one of the major features is scheduling repairs at an Apple retail store if necessary. But with virtually all of these all closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, customers will need to depend more on the Apple Support app.

The updated version of this free software is available on the App Store now.
