Landay and screenwriter Mark Bomback also share additional thoughts about making a book into a show.
Defending Jacob now on Apple TV+
“In this gripping, character-driven thriller, a shocking crime rocks a small Massachusetts town and one family in particular, forcing an assistant district attorney to choose between his sworn duty to uphold justice and his unconditional love for his son,” Apple promises in its marketing copy for Defending Jacob.

Watching it, as well all the other shows on Apple TV+, requires $4.99 monthly subscription. But anyone who recently bought a new Apple device can enjoy the streaming service free for a year.
