An iOS 14 concept video shows how an iPhone might look if it gains home screen widgets, as has been rumored.

Plus, it envisions several features currently available for iPad jumping to iPhone, like Split Screen multitasking, a floating Dock, and more.

Watch it now:

This iOS 14 concept video is from the Hacker 34, who regularly dreams up suggestions for Apple developers. The signature feature of this latest one is home screen widgets. And it’s not coming out of the blue — an image supposedly giving a small glimpse of how widgets will look in on a future iPhone leaked April 7.

And the latest iOS 14 concept video from the Hacker 34 contains a lengthy list of other proposed features. “Say hello to Split screen on iPhone, new app switcher, smaller call HUD, always on display, Emoji Bar on the keyboard in addition to better performance, stability and battery life,” writes the creator.

iOS 14 coming this fall

The official unveiling of iOS 14 is almost certainly coming in June, as Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference.

Besides home screen widgets, other upcoming features have leaked out too. There will reportedly be a built-in augmented-reality viewer, a list view of apps on the home screen, iMessage unsend, and more. Development on the new operating system is reportedly on track — although Apple engineers are having to work from home.

If the company holds with it’s long-held habits, it’ll show off the features of the next iPhone operating system at WWDC, let developers test it throughout the summer, then release it to the public in the fall.
