Anyone missing the ocean can dive into E-Line Media’s Beyond Blue. Playing as a scientist, the goal of the iPhone or Apple TV game is to explore and uncover the secrets of the Earth’s last uncharted frontier.

It debuted Friday on Apple Arcade, the company’s subscription gaming service.

Beyond Blue takes players to the depths of the sea

The developers promise “an evocative narrative, exploration of an untouched world, and adventure that challenges the player to make high-stakes decisions during the crew’s expedition.“

Beyond Blue was created with input from leading ocean experts. Players both drive submarines and dive directly in the water. And, of course, they’ll interact with a wide variety of sea life.

This is a single-player game for ages 4 and up. It’s available for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

Now on Apple Arcade

Beyond Blue debuted Friday, April 17, and the only way to play is with a $4.99-a-month subscription to Apple Arcade. But this fee also brings access to over 100 other games, all of which can be played on a variety of Apple devices.

Parents can be assured that there’ll be no surprise fees later. Apple Arcade bans in-app purchases, loot boxes, and other money-making systems. Advertising within games is also forbidden.
