Anyone looking for free entertainment without having to leave their home can watch the dozens of free classic movies available from Voleflix. There’s drama, romance and horror films with stars like Cary Grant, Vincent Price and Mickey Mouse.

Everything on Voleflix is public domain, but that doesn’t mean it’s rubbish. Quite the contrary. Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant and Walter Matthau make Charade (1963) a comedy/thriller classic. There’s no better version of Cyrano de Bergerac (1950) that the one starring José Ferrer. And Max Fleischer’s Superman (1941) influenced the look of the Man of Steel for decades.

There are also movies from Roger Corman, Peter Cushing, Bette Davis, Stanley Kubrick, Judy Garland and more.

Plus, there’s some Abbott and Costello and the original Mickey Mouse cartoon Steamboat Willie (1928) for laughs.

But some of the films on Voleflix are terrible. Wonderfully, delightfully terrible. Ed Wood’s Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959) and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964) are so-bad-they’re-good cult classics. But only try Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966) to see what’s widely regarded as the worst movie ever made.

And these are just some of the high points. To see everything available, visit the Voleflix website. Again, it’s all completely free.

To watch more recent movies, the cable channel Epix is available free through the Apple TV app. And HBO is offering hundreds of hours of free content, too.
