The iMac might finally get a big design change in 2020 after going untouched for seven years and one team of concept designers is hoping it borrows heavily from the new Mac Pro.

Viktor Kádár and Patrik Borgatai imagined what the 2020 iMac lineup will look like if Apple added a new Pro Display XDR and a base that looks like a Pro Stand that doesn’t cost $999. The end result is a more industrial looking iMac with slimmer bezels and louder sound.

This thing is absolutely gorgeous:

Kádár and Borgatai posted detailed photos of their iMac concept on Behance and explained the thought process behind the machine. The duo also created some neat wallpapers that you can download to use on your old iMac right now.

“I am a huge fan of the look of Apple’s Pro Stand, but I know that such an expensive object can’t be used in the iMac. So I made some changes that would reduce cost and fits more to the aesthetics of the machine,” writes Kádár. “The stand has a twelve-millimeter thickness and because I love symmetry and evenness, I dropped the five-millimeter edges and I made them to twelve.”

Apple is allegedly planning to release its updated iMac soon, according to reliable Apple tipster CoinX. There haven’t been many rumors though on what type of design changes we can expect to see, or if Apple even plans to make design changes. CoinX also claims a new Mac mini is on the way too.
