The Apple TV App is now available on Fire TV Edition Smart TVs in the U.S., slowly increasing its availability on various third-party streaming players and televisions.

The addition includes built-in Alexa voice-command support to ask for AppleTV+ programs and to open the Apple TV app.

Users began finding the app on Fire TV Edition Smart TVs Monday.

Fire TV Edition customers can find the Apple TV app by saying “Alexa, find/open Apple TV app.” Users can verbally ask “Alexa, watch The Morning Show” or “Alexa, find dramas” to see Apple TV+ content in search results. Additionally, users can also access their iTunes library.

The Apple TV app on Fire TV provides subscribers another wayto subscribe to streaming services like HBO, Showtime, Starz, CBS All Access, AcornTV, Britbox, CuriosityStream, MTV Hits, Shudder, and many more.

Apple TV+ growing across various platforms

Apple has aggressively moved to get its Apple TV app on devices other than its own Apple TV streaming player to spread the availability of its TV+ subscription streaming service.

In October, the app debuted on Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen) and Fire TV Stick 4K in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, France and India. It was then that Amazon said it planned to bring the app to the Nebula soundbar soon.

The arrival of Apple TV on Amazon streaming devices follows shortly after Apple brought its Apple TV app to Roku. It is also available via Samsung smart TVs.

The TV+ service officially launched on November 1. It costs US$4.99 per month.
