Huawei has often been guilty of introducing products “inspired” by Apple designers, and it’s apparently doing so again with an upcoming tablet. Leaked images of the Huawei MatePad Pro show it looks almost exactly like an iPad Pro. Even the name is copied.

Evan Blass and 91mobiles came up with a collection of images of this tablet and its accessories before the official announcement.

These show the MatePad Pro with the same rounded corners as the 2018 iPad Pro, both on the casing and the display.

And Huawei will apparently offer an ultra-slim keyboard that’s the spitting image of the Apple Smart Keyboard. To top it off, there’s a stylus that clings to the top edge of the tablet, just like the Apple Pencil 2.

One of the few external hardware differences is the MatePad Pro will allegedly have a punch-hole camera, while Apple put its equivalent on the screen bezel. Also, Huawei included dual camera lenses — Apple is rumored to be planning something similar for the 2020 iPad Pro.

Of course, the upcoming tablet will run Android, but Blass wasn’t able to come up with any internal specifications. Also unknown is a price or release date for the Huawei MatePad Pro. The Apple iPad Pro this computer is modeled after is available already, of course.

For other examples of this company copying Cupertino, look no farther than its MagicBook Pro that’s a MacBook clone, and its FreeBuds 3 are strongly reminiscent of the new AirPods Pro.
