It is finally possible to download Hulu content for offline viewing on iOS. The new feature is available today in the latest Hulu update. But there is a catch.

Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and many others allow offline viewing. It has become a standard feature across most video streaming platforms, and it’s incredibly handy, especially for those who travel.

Hulu has finally arrived at the party, but not all users can enjoy its new offline viewing feature on iOS.

Hulu lets you download for the first time

Offline viewing is available on thousands of shows and movies, Hulu says. It includes popular titles like Family Guy, How I Met Your Mother, and The Handmaid’s Tale. And it’s easy to use.

You simply need to find the content you want to watch later — there’s a handy “See What’s Downloadable” button — and then tap the download button next to shows or movies you want to see.

You can download up to 25 titles across five different devices, and you’ll have up to 30 days to watch it before it expires. Content you’ve watched will expire two days after you started playback.

If you didn’t get a chance to see content you downloaded before it expired, you can simply download it again for another 30 days of access.

What’s the catch?

You’ll need an ad-free Hulu Premium plan, starting at $11.99 a month, to enjoy offline viewing on iOS. That means Basic and Basic + Live TV subscribers are left out in the cold.

You will also need an iOS device. Offline viewing isn’t yet available on Android, but Hulu says it’s coming soon.
