The WWDC 2019 keynote came packed with exciting announcements. As in past years, I ended up with four pages of drawings in my notebook. I sketched out the biggest new features coming to tvOS 13, iOS 13, macOS Catalina and watchOS 6. And then there’s the new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR.
As seen in my first sketchnote, above, tvOS 13 adds multi-user support and support for Xbox One and PlayStation DualShock 4 game controllers for Apple Arcade. Meanwhile, watchOS 6 will bring an App Store directly to the Apple Watch, a new Noise app, and a new Cycle tracking app for women.

Maps updates, Sign in with Apple, Photos app updates and iPadOS
Apple has been working to improve Maps and will be adding 3D views, collections and favorite locations in upcoming updates. In a continued push toward better privacy, you will gain even more control over how apps share your location.
Signing into an account or website with your social media credentials may become a thing of the past thanks to Sign in with Apple. The new security feature will allow you to sign in with Face ID. Apps that require an email address can be assigned a unique, app-specific email address, so as to avoid providing your personal email.
One of the biggest rumors that came true at WWDC 2019 was iPadOS. The new operating system will bring many new enhancements and features to the iPad, including support for USB drives and SD cards. Artists, like myself, will be excited over the reduction of Apple Pencil latency down to 9 milliseconds.
Mac Pro, Pro Display XDR, macOS Catalina and Project Catalyst
The pro user community got a legit reason to celebrate with the unveiling of the new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR. Both new pieces of hardware offer power and performance, especially in 8K video editing workflows.
macOS Catalina will see iTunes separated into three different apps for Music, Podcasts and TV. Sidecar is a new app that will allow you to use your iPad as a second display for your Mac, either wirelessly or wired. Sidecar will also support using the Apple Pencil for input.
Project Catalyst will allow developers to port their iPad apps to the Mac easier. Potentially, one development team could build an app for the iPhone, iPad and Mac in one fell swoop.
ARKit 3 and Swift UI
ARKit 3 will give developers new tools to build augmented reality experiences. Motion capture and people occlusion are some of the new features which will allow developers to create rich AR environments.
The new Swift UI framework aims to make it easier for developers to write code. Xcode will include a real-time UI preview directly in Xcode and a native framework for building Apple Watch apps.
