Looking for a smart air purifier you can control using your iPhone? If so, Apple has just the product for you — with the Wynd Plus Smart Air Purifier intelligent personal air quality system. The size of a water bottle, the portable device promises to create a perfect bubble of clean air around users.
Best of all, an accompanying iOS app will monitor your environment and alert you of any changes you need to know about.
The device retails for $199.95. It’s available to purchase through Apple’s Online Store, although it may be available to buy in certain brick-and-mortar retail outlets too. It uses a patented turbofan system to deliver extremely fast cleaning. It also boasts a medical grade filter for removing particulates, smoke, dander, and germs from the air around you.
The lightweight device charges via USB-C charging cable, and comes with a battery life lasting between 6 to 8 hours. After this, you’ll need to recharge it for approximately two hours.
From Kickstarter to Apple Store
Wynd Plus’ arrival in the Apple Store is something of a triumph. The product started life on Kickstarter in 2016, where it massively out-earned its $50,000 target. In the end, 3,456 backers pledged $604,792 to bring the product to life.
With its sleek, white design it’s a good match for Apple’s products. Unlike some of the air quality monitors I’ve reviewed previously, the Wynd Plus will actually do something about low quality air. If you’re someone who suffers from allergies, or simply lives in a place with a lot of pollution, this could well be the device for you.
