Apple drops yet another batch of iOS 12 and macOS Mojave betas

iOS and macOS developers received a fresh batch of new beta updates from Apple this morning as the company prepares to launch its new software this fall. And the general public got a new iOS beta too.

macOS Mojave beta 9 and iOS 12 beta 11 can be downloaded from the Apple developer center immediately. The updates bringing a host of bug fixes and performance improvements to the iPhone and Mac.

Along with the new iOS 12 and macOS Mojave betas, Apple has also included a new tvOS 12 beta. All three of the new builds can be installed as over-the-air updates if you have the previous betas installed.

Members of Apple’s public beta program received iOS 12 Public Beta 9 this morning. Release notes for all three of the new updates don’t mention any major new changes. The updates likely focus on under-the-hood improvements so that they can be ready to launch soon.

Lots iOS 12 beta versions in a short time

The new iOS beta comes just three days after Apple dropped the previous one. Last week the company came out with two betas within five days of each other.

iOS 12 contains a number of big UI changes to the Books, News and Stocks app. Apple has added a new Siri Shortcuts app and tweaked the way Notification Center works. There are also some new tools in the Photos app, a new ScreenTime feature and Memoji.

The public release for iOS 12, tvOS 12, macOS Mojave and watchOS 5 is slated for this fall.
