Five men from Romania have been arrested after stealing $600,000 of iPhones from a moving truck in an astonishingly risky late-night raid that ultimately didn’t pay off for them.

Who needs the Fast and the Furious movies when you’ve got real life?

A terrifyingly daring raid

The men, aged between 33 and 43, targeted a Dutch delivery truck on a highway around 80 miles south of Amsterdam. They reportedly drove up to the moving truck in a modified van, allowing one of the suspects to climb across to the truck and break through its doors — before passing boxes of iPhones back to his buddies in the van through a hole in its roof.

Dutch police spokesman Ed Kraszewski said, “The truck was taking its freight from A to B and did not stop. Even so, [the phones] were gone. So it must have happened that way. And now we finally have the evidence, with the van and the loot.”

The five men were arrested at a holiday park in the Netherlands on Saturday, and will appear before a judge today. The raid itself took place at the end of July. Police were able to recover both the stolen iPhones and the van involved with the heist.

Romanian police have previously released a video showing a similar raid taking place back in 2012:
